HighNoon ShowDown

The Cowboy Six Shooter is the world wide recognized icon of the American Cowboy.  The words “Six Shooter” were etched on some revolver barrels at the Colt factory.  In testimony to its lasting legacy, versions of the famous 1873 Colt Single Action Army Six Shooter are manufactured around the World today.  The Non-profit Texas entity Cowboy Six Shooter Historic Foundation provides a safe and pleasant recreational Cowboy Six Shooter experience.  The National Rifle Association honored the Foundation fun-gun HighNoon ShowDown game by awarding it the NRA 2008 National Public Service Award.

The Six Shooter Foundation promotes public awareness, education, appreciation and preservation of our American Cowboy Six Shooter Heritage, "The gun that won the West".  When playing the NRA  HighNoon ShowDown game as Deputy Sheriff, volunteers will be offered the opportunity to handle a real Cowboy Six Shooter - many for the first time in their lives.   This is an exciting and fun game for all ages.

Going back to 2007, HighNoon ShowDown is a safe and fun game.  Playing out the role of Cowboy and Cowgirl, event visitors volunteer to be a Deputy using safe wax bullets (no powder - primer only).  Real Cowboy Six Shooters are used as if they were a "Hollywood Prop".  The caricature metal targets detect a wax bullet hit and declare winner between the two Deputy Sheriffs.  What a fantastic gun-fun experience!!

Volunteer Deputies help Sheriff run the Bad Guys out of town!
